I absolutely love the party search function as a auction house.
Now if anet just had maybe a tab for selling and buying, along with filtering and allowing more than 31 characters to be entered.
Also allowing a feature if you want the entire continent and not just the town your in.
Overall. 10/10 for the party search!

I suspect the experiened traders will post their WTS on all tabs there is, then having done that, go on to spam on their local/trade channel anyways. The only restriction imposed on them is that they cant town hop to spam their goods hence this could lead to very focused and even worse spamming in "trade districts" than before.
We will have to see what will happen.

I don't think you can post more than one entry at a time.

Not necessarily, but I did notice that whatever you are looking for is highlighted in green to make it easier to find among the huge list. Hope that helps.

People putting stupid crap in there will go away after a few days when they get bored. It's a very nice feature and expansion to Areo's original suggestion over at TGH that they used as a basis for this (well, more completely implemented, since it's nearly identical to his suggestion). However, a way to sort them in groups, sort of like how Windows Explorer lets you sort by type - sort by function (Quest, Mission, hunting, Trade).

funny how people complain about trading in this- its not spammed at all, its a very polite way to buy and sell in town. Granted if there was a filter to match our settings (trade, quest, mission) then itd be really hard to imagine what people will complain about.
Thank you ANet- I hate spamming my wts just as much as people hate seeing it. This is going to work out very well... and yes quest/mission party is helpful too...
edit- yeah ive noticed stupid crap too already-- some funny, some not fit for younger viewers o.O

At the second Gaile chat today, she said they were still working on trade improvments. I think this is a step in the right direction, but Anet might be working on something else. With 2 huge things crossed off the to-do list though, maybe we will hear more about it sometime early 2007.

Huh ? It seems to me that the green shows who is in your current district, not that they have what you are looking for.

I would still rather have an auction house that sells my item for me. I don't want to sit in town for hours trying to spam a sell or even put it on the party window hoping some one will see it on that endless unsortable list.
The point is I don't want to take away from my game time just to try and sell something. This is far from an auction house.

Great idea .. to bad you cannot type enough info to let people know what you are selling. WTS: Gold crystalline (req10) 13 .... is all that fits which invites moronic blind pms.

Either way, its MUCH BETTER than spamming every 20 seconds. type in your crap you wanna sell, close the window, do whatever. I keep my game minimised and leave sound on so i can hear PMs.

Yeah I agree.. this is very much a step in the right direction for a solid trade system. A few things they can (and probably will) change to make it better, but a good first step. I never sold anything before because I hated to have to sit there and spam.. now I don't have to ^^
